About Lorenz

In 1990, Lorenz Weber was born in Thurgau, Switzerland, and grew up in Wagenhausen, only a few meters away from the River Rhine. After finishing school, Lorenz trained as a technical draftsman because of his good imagination and strong skills in geometry. After successfully completing his apprenticeship, it took only one year until he left this profession.

In the following years, he stayed in Switzerland and tried many different hobbies in his free time – from paragliding to local politics and much more. However, he never tried painting. This talent was taken away from him at a very early age by an uncreative school system that focused only on grades.

During the COVID period, Lorenz clearly felt that he was missing a way to express himself with more than just words. After several life events, both positive and negative, he moved to Vienna in January 2023. There, he wanted to fulfill his need for expression through painting.

In spring 2023, he attended his first beginner watercolor course with Marion Pass at the Kunstfabrik Wien. This course quickly proved to be an important turning point. From that moment on, Lorenz continued to pursue painting with great dedication, and he still does so today.

Only two years later, he received his first commissioned works and held his first solo exhibition in Poysdorf, in the Weinviertel region of Lower Austria. Today, Lorenz continues to explore the many facets of painting through courses and his own experiments. Most importantly, the joy of painting must never be lost.
